Carlos Tevez waves goodbye to his beloved Boca Juniors and says hello to mega-money with his new signing to Shanghai Shenhua. The Argentinian, former Manchester United striker has secured his deal that will make him the highest-paid player in the world.

Supporters were left pleading for Tevez to reconsider his move to Shanghai Shenhua by holding up signs that read “Don’t Go, Carlos!” during his last game, where he was took off during the 90th minute to receive a rapturous reception, giving an emotional wave goodbye to his beloved fans as he prepares for his next chapter in his journey.

Tevez at Boca Juniors

As some of you loyal fans are well aware of, Boca Juniors is where Carlos Tevez began his professional footballing career. Carlos made 110 appearances for Boca in the seasons 2001 to 2004, scoring a total of 38 goals. At the young age of 16, Tevez made his debut for Boca Juniors where he went on to assist his club to be crowned champions of the 2001 Copa Libertadores, an historic memory for both Carlos and Boca Juniors.

The return of Tevez at Boca Juniors or in many eyes the return of a legend, fans thought that’s where he’d be set for a good few years, however it didn’t last long.  Despite being back at Boca for no more than a season, being a much loved appreciated player that he is, Carlos signed a contract that saw him move to the Chinese Super League at the end of 2016.

New Contract for Tevez with the Chinese Super League

On December 29th 2016 Carlos Tevez signed for the Chinese Super League club, Shanghai Shenhua.

Carlos Tevez Record Breaking Move to China Confirmed New SigningGetting paid £615,000 a week, is it an impossible challenge for Tevez to prove his worth? Although the hefty-price tag Tevez says in his first press conference for the club “There will probably be pressure, but because I love football very much I will use my passion for the sport.”

Former Boca Juniors star Carlos Tevez has took to the training grounds of Shanghai Shenhua in preparation of their third qualifying round for the AFC Champions League on 7th Feb.

Gus Poyet, coach of Shanghai Shenhua made Carlos his priority signing after a fourth place finish last season, with Angel Di Maria also on Poyet’s wish list. Now being over 20 years since they last won the Chinese Super League Gus Poyet has signed new players to enhance his squad, giving them a better chance to be crowned champions of CSL for the fourth time.

So will Carlos Tevez and Obafemi Martins team up well together? Creating the goals that Shanghai Shenhua need to collect those vital points in order to be declared champions again? We will see when the first match of the season gets under way in March.

Who else is going to Sign the Bank-Busting Move to China?

It is rumored that Wayne Rooney will be one of the next big names to be recruited by the China’s mega-rich clubs. But, is this true? Are the Red Devil’s honestly going to let the record-breaking Rooney go?

With the Chinese transfer windows now open up until the end of February and what was Sir Bobby Charlton’s goal-scoring record now in Rooney’s bag, Wayne just might be ready to look at his next options. The Chinese Super League is offering Rooney a staggering £1 million per week! Surely this could be enough to tempt the current England skipper to cash in on the final years of his career.

There is talk of Man Utd signing Antione Griezmann next summer, and with the possibility of Rooney leaving this February it will mean that United will save more £20 million on wages which could be put together to possibly tempt Griezmann. Giving even more reason why Manchester United would let Wayne Rooney go.

Chelsea has now confirmed the departure of Oscar, a new signing for Shanghai SIPG as of January 1st 2017. Ramirez is another player from Chelsea to be transferred to the Chinese Super League. It seems as if these large payment packages could be a threat towards the English Premier League.

Chinese Super League: A Threat to the English Premier League

The world of football has been shaken by the Chinese Super League, as it seems that no player is out of reach for this upcoming ambitious league, which could be a possible threat to the quality of the top tier of English football.

The mega-rich clubs from China make it pretty much impossible for stars of the EPL to turn down their deals. Up until the January window we had seen some players depart from the English top flight, but now with quality of players being linked this could be a huge threat to the Premier League.

Carlos Tevez Record Breaking Move to China Oscars DepartureAlready at the start of January we see Oscar depart from Chelsea and now with the talks of their star player Diego Costa linked to Tianjin Quanjian for an eye-opening £480,000 a week, we doubt Costa won’t think twice about his move despite Chelsea having no intention of selling him.  But, the new rules that have come into place for Chinese football have scuppered Diego’s contract.

The new rule of the CSL states that Chinese clubs will only be able to field three foreign players when the new season starts. “This situation has brought a change to our signing plans,” said Shu, owner of Tianjin Quanjian, hence the disruption of Diego Costa’s deal.
