Luka Modrić born 9 September 1985 in Zadar is a Croatian footballer who plays for Tottenham Hotspur and for the Croatia. He is an attacking midfielder, who can play central or left side where he demonstrates his range of passing, vision and good technique. After playing for hometown club Zadar, he was signed by Dinamo Zagreb as a teenager. His professional career began with loan spells at Zrinjski Mostar and Inter Zaprešić. At Zagreb, he won three league titles and several domestic cups, with Modrić named Prva HNL "Player of the Year" in 2007. Modrić agreed transfer terms with Tottenham Hotspur in 2008. He was the first of many signings by Juande Ramos. He signed a 6 year deal after a fee of £16.5 million. Since 2008 Modric has gone from strength to strength, playing an important role in spurs finishing fourth in 09-10 season and qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.
