It hasn't been easy being an AC Milan supporter for the last few seasons. The Rossoneri's management and on-field performances have led to further shortcomings, with fans pleading for drastic changes at the club.
Sinisa Mihajlovic's arrival at the Milanello in June relieved fans and brought promise of a better tomorrow. Club legend Filippo Inzaghi was cast away in the process, whose inexperience managing at the top flight landed AC Milan a tenth-place finish and yet another season without European football.
Mihajlovic, instead, was valued for his strict work ethic and would bring order and structure to the club. It's his way or the highway a tough approach that was needed to rid the disappointing passiveness that has been displayed for the past couple of years.
Different tactical setups were tested from a 4-3-1-2 to a 4-3-3 and quite a few players were purchased in the summer including Carlos Bacca, Alessio Romagnoli and Andrea Bertolacci.
But apart from a couple - November 23, 2015
Gianluigi Donnarumma hasn't gotten a ton of play time at AC Milan this season, but in his limited appearances, he's already impressed football fans and pundits across the globe. ESPN FC has praised him for showing "shades of Buffon," a reference to Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon. Bleacher Report said Donnarumma provided proof that "the future is extremely bright for AC Milan. Other soccer-focused publications have showered the young keeper with similarly glowing praise. Donnarumma is, it seems, the breakout star of the 2015 2016 AC Milan season.
A Changing of the Guard
At the beginning of the season, Diego Lopez was the starting goalkeeper for AC Milan. The 34-year-old veteran is only in his second season with the Red and Blacks but has enjoyed a long and fruitful career. Having served as the first-choice keeper for both Villarreal and Real Madrid, Lopez is the kind of experienced goalkeeper that a team like - November 02, 2015
When Sinisa Mihajlovic was appointed as AC Milan's manager on June 16th, it felt like a good fit. Milan have spent the past two seasons languishing in the middle of the Serie A table, to the point where neither players nor fans have much confidence left in the football club's ability to win titles. Mihajlovic, meanwhile, is a coach known for being able to motivate and inspire his teams to better performances than they ever thought possible. He proved that much at Sampdoria, where, in just two years, he took a recently promoted Serie B squad and turned it into a Europa League-qualifying organization.
A Golden Opportunity
The hope, of course, was that the motivational Mihajlovic would lift the lagging spirits of the AC Milan - September 17, 2015
Internazionale left San Siro with the bragging rights on Sunday, September 13th, beating their local rivals (and fellow stadium tenants) AC Milan 1-0 in a high-profile San Siro derby 2015 match. The two Milan football clubs may not be what they once were nowadays. They finished eighth (Inter) and 10th (AC) respectively in the 2014 2015 Serie A. That's a far cry from the champion (AC) and runner-up (Inter) slots that they had occupied just four years earlier. Still, even with Milan's soccer teams having hit rough patches at more or less the same time, the derby games between them remain fierce, high-profile rivalry battles. Sunday's match was no exception.
May the Better Team Win
Last season, it was nearly impossible to tell which Milan squad was the better - September 10, 2015
Mario Balotelli has perhaps had the most confounding career of any currently active football player. Still just 25, the Italian striker has played for five different soccer clubs since starting his senior career back in 2006. A youth star at Lumezzane, Balotelli has spent most of the past decade ping-ponging back and forth between the English Premier League and the Serie A division in his native Italy. Now as Mario Balotelli returns to AC Milan we ask is this fresh start full of potential greatness?
Balotelli's Troubled Career
From 2007 to 2010, he was a promising young presence at Internazionale, scoring 28 goals across 86 overall appearances. For the 2010 2011 campaign, he transferred to Manchester City on a €21.8 million signing, going on to play two and a half - August 17, 2015AC Milan will officially begin the 2015 2016 season on August 23rd, when they play an away match at
Fiorentina for the opening weekend of the latest Serie A campaign. For now, though, the summer transfer window is still wide open, and the Red and Blacks are taking advantage of it by continuing their streak of signings. This week it was announced that AC Milan signs Alessio Romagnoli, in total the club has brought nine new transfers aboard since June, several of whom have been quite expensive-including Roma midfielder Andrea Bertolacci, Sevilla forward Carlos Bacca, and Luis Adriano, who was a star of last year's Champions League for Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Red and Blacks have paid reported transfer fee of €25 million to bring another Roma player to Milan, Alessio Romagnoli. He is a 20-year-old center back who came up in Roma's youth program before starting his senior career in 2012. He spent the last soccer season on loan to Sampdoria, but Milan will - August 04, 2015
Real Madrid won their second International Champions Cup title in a week on July 30th, beating AC Milan in a hard-fought penalty kick shootout to claim victory in the International Champions Cup 2015 China incarnation of the football tournament. Just days before, on July 24th, the Vikings had beaten Manchester City 4-1 to clinch the Australian incarnation of the 2015 ICC.
Unfortunately, Real aren't participating in the third and final edition of this year's International Champions Cup, which is currently taking place in North America and Europe. Still, two tournament victories in a single month is nothing but good news for the 2014 2015 La Liga runners-up, and shows that Cristiano Ronaldo and company haven't lost a step in the transition from Carlo Ancelotti to new manager, Rafael Benitez.

Back in February, AC Milan announced plans to build a new 48,000-seat stadium in the Portello area of Milan. The plans included a sweeping re-development concept for the urban Portello neighborhood, including a new hotel, a number of restaurants, a sports college, and more. Now, plans for the new AC Milan stadium have officially been approved, which means that AC Milan's days at San Siro are numbered.
A Storied Venue
It's not surprising that the Red and Blacks are moving forward with plans for a new stadium. Football club officials have been talking about relocating since late 2005, and it's not difficult to see why. While AC Milan's history has been inextricably tied to San Siro for the better part of a century now, they do share the venue with Inter Milan-a complicated - July 11, 2015
AC Milan landed a marquee signing on July 2nd, bringing aboard Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca for a transfer fee of £21 million. Provided that his medical exams go off without a hitch, the 28-year-old Bacca will don the AC Milan home jersey 2015 2016 for the forthcoming season. The hope at San Siro is undoubtedly that Bacca will bring some extra offensive fire to Milan. So as AC Milan sign Carlos Bacca, what are his credentials, and can he help boost the squad back to the top of the Serie A table?
Shortcomings in Milan
AC Milan were not necessarily poor offensively during the 2014 2015 Serie A season. On the contrary, the football club knocked down 56 goals in their 38-game campaign, and forward Jeremy Menez was the fifth most prolific scorer in the league, with 16 goals to his name. Even Juventus, who bested the next-best team in Serie A (AS Roma) by 17 points, only scored 72 goals all season. Milan's biggest - July 03, 2015
One of the bigger transfer rumors circulating this summer is that of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a possible
return to AC Milan. The 33-year-old Swedish soccer star played for the Red and Blacks for two seasons before transferring to Paris Saint Germain in 2012. Since winning four trophies with PSG this past season, Ibrahimovic has stoked the rumor mill flames, indicating that he might be ready to leave France before the 2015 2016 season begins. However, thanks to a contract extension he signed in 2013, Zlatan is bound to the Parisians until next year, and based on how much the Swedish forward has helped PSG over the past few years, it's difficult to see club officials letting him go.
Regardless of where he ends up playing football in 2015 2016, though, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be an asset. Though the footballer will
