The new AC Milan soccer jersey is still designed by Adidas, but marks subtle changes in color and design that set it apart from past versions of the famed football shirt. The new home kit uses darker reds and an altered striping pattern, with one thicker, bolder black stripe running down the center of the shirt for a completely different visual dynamic. Soccer Box has both the 2014 2015 shirt and the 2013 2014 design in stock, with the older jerseys on sale as we look to clear this season's stock.
Out with the Old, In with the New
Our "out with the old, in with the new" mentality at Soccer Box, as we sell off the remaining stock of last year's AC Milan home kit, is likely similar to the core mission of AC Milan at the moment. Rumors have been in the air that the team's head coach, Clarence Seedorf, could be replaced for the 2014 2015 season, while certain players are mulling transfers as well. Undoubtedly, the AC Milan that appears in next year's Serie A season will be a different, reorganized version of the one we know today.
The reasoning for this impending mix-up is not hard to figure out. The last time AC Milan finished outside of the top three on the Serie A table was at the end of the 2007 2008 season, when the team ended up in fifth place. Since then, Milan has routinely taken first or second place, and even won the whole ballgame in 2010 2011.
This year, however, the AC Milan soccer jersey was no longer a symbol of consistency and strength in the game of football, but of frustration and failure. With 13 losses on the record and almost as many draws, Milan saw one of its most disappointing seasons ever in 2013 2014. In fact, the performance was so dire that the winning team in this year's Serie A league, Juventus, won more than twice as many games as Milan, finishing the season with a terrific record of 33-3-2.
Looking Forward
As AC Milan goes back to the drawing board next year, though, it will hopefully still be able to count on its core players returning for an attempt at correcting the 2013 2014 season's rough patch. Those core players will be visible on TV this summer, as many of them are heading to the World Cup for various national teams.
The number of AC Milan soccer jersey veterans called up for this year's World Cup is, understandably, fewer than it has been in more prosperous times for AC Milan. For instance, only three Milan players will join the Italian national team in Brazil this summer: forward Mario Balotelli, defender Mattia De Sciglio, and midfielder Riccardo Montolivo (though Balotelli will still likely be one of the stars of the Word Cup for Italy).
Beyond Italy, fans of AC Milan will get a chance to see their favorite players as parts of several other highly seeded national football teams. From 2010 runners-up the Netherlands to the FIFA top-five ranked Colombia team, all the way to noted spoiler teams like Japan and Ghana, AC Milan will at very least have a presence in multiple different corners of this summer's World Cup.
Still, as fans cheer for their favorite players at the World Cup, the overarching thought is this: can AC Milan recover from this off-year to put forth a stronger performance in 2014 2015? You can help make the answer to that question a "yes" by buying an AC Milan home kit for next season and supporting your favorite team despite the dry patch. Find jerseys for next year on Soccer Box.
