The weekend of October 3rd and 4th is a big one in European football, featuring a high-profile match in
nearly every top-flight soccer league. In the English Premier League, Manchester United and Arsenal will do battle. In the German Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will face off. In the Spanish La Liga, Atletico and Real Madrid will play a crosstown rivalry grudge match. And in the Dutch Eredivisie, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven will challenge one another for bragging rights.
Amidst all of these headline-worthy matches between top title contenders, the Premier League also has one fixture on the other end of the spectrum this weekend. 2014 2015 was a weird season at Aston Villa. On the one hand, the Claret and Blue made it all the way to the finals of the FA Cup before losing to Arsenal. On the other hand, they fell to 17th place on the Premier League standings table, just narrowly avoiding relegation to the Football League Championship. Needless to say, the Lions will need some extra firepower on the field if they are going to have a brighter 2015 2016 campaign. It was recently announced that Aston Villa sign Micah Richards, this is a step that shows that the soccer club might just be taking the right steps to add the needed strength to the squad.

The 2014 2015 season certainly treated Arsenal well. While the football club ultimately couldn't worm their way into the runner-up position of this year's English Premier League, they did land in third, which is their best finish in the division since 2011 2012. They also won more games (22) than they have in a Premier League campaign since 2010, and had one of the top five goalscorers (Alexis Sanchez) in the soccer league. And finally, to top it off Arsenal win FA Cup 2015!
Now, with a victory over Aston Villa in the 2014 2015 FA Cup, Arsenal's season has gotten a whole lot sweeter.
