Here's how it happened: during the Wolfsburg match, Suarez went for a header, but ended up hitting his head and hitting it hard on the hip of teammate, Cristian Ansaldi. Suarez was knocked unconscious by the incident, but Atletico Madrid representatives later said that he had suffered "traumatic brain injury," been rushed to the hospital, and stayed behind in Germany for treatment, even as the rest of his team headed home to Spain.
