It was decided in March 2004 that Brazil were going to be hosting the World Cup 2014. The national team boast a very successful history in football, they are five time World Cup champions including winners of the 2002 World Cup.
They battled it out against Germany which ended in a 2-0 win to the Brazilians; both goals came from Ronaldo who was a key figure in the national German side.
The team will be wearing the Brazil home soccer jersey 2013 - 2014 which will be available for order from the Soccer Box store today.
Brazil are one of the top national teams to exist, along with Germany who also feature such as skilled squad. This year Luiz Felipe Scolari will be rotating the squad around to see who plays the best in each position.
All Brazilian players will be vying for a place in the squad for the World Cup 2014, hosting the tournament in the Brazil soccer jersey each match will give them a fantastic feeling.
Scolari was in charge of the national team during the 2002 World Cup when Brazil became Champions. At the end of the season he resigned as the manager of Brazil and in 2003 signed up to become the manager of Portugal, another top national soccer team.
He coached the team up until 2008, it was rumoured that he would go for the England manager's position but he ended up joining Premier league club Chelsea, but just for the 2008-2009 season.
During his time as Chelsea manager, he signed the very popular Deco from Spanish club Barcelona. Deco has represented his nation, Portugal in the World Cup since 2003 right up to 2010.
Scolari did become fairly frustrated at the fact he could not sign Robinho from Real Madrid. He is a Brazilian striker who has played for previous clubs such as Santos, Real Madrid, Manchester City and now AC Milan.
After Madrid turned down a bid from Scolari at Chelsea the forward then signed for Manchester City.
Robinho earned his first ever Brazil cap in a game against 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup match which saw them lose 0-1 to Mexico. After this the next time he wore the Brazil soccer jersey was in the 2005 FIFA confederations cup.
He played alongside fellow Brazilian star Adriano and scored many goals.
Next was the FIFA World Cup 2007, the striker was not used as much as he probably would have liked, with big named stars such as Ronaldo and Ronaldinho it was tough to become a regular starter.
In the 2007 Copa America Robinho played a big part in the team as many of the big names were missing. He played a blinder throughout the whole competition and was awarded at the end of the tournament with the Golden Boot and Player of the Tournament award.
Despite his troubles with his club Manchester City he still managed to receive call-ups to wear the Brazil soccer jersey and in 2009 he played every match in the 2009 Confederations Cup which saw them win the competition.
More good news came for Robinho when he was named in the Brazil squad for the FIFA 2010 World Cup, this came after he made a £15,000,000 move from Manchester City to AC Milan in the Serie A league.
During the 2010 World Cup Robinho played alongside Fabiano, both in the Brazil soccer jersey.
After the World Cup we did not see Robinho again apart from when he played for his club in the Italian league.
There was some surprising news however when Luiz Felipe Scolari announced that he would be recalling Robinho to the Brazil squad for friendlies against Honduras and Chile next month.
Robinho took the news very well and is eager to get back in to the Brazil home soccer jersey 2013 - 2014.
He spoke to press about his call up and said "There are few games before the World Cup, which is my ultimate goal''.
He then went on to say "I do not know if this will be my last World Cup, but I will strive to make sure I am in the squad.
Brazil has always been my goal and always will be. "There are few games before the World Cup, which is my ultimate goal," he said.
Scolari knows that Robinho is a very versatile player; he has spoken out about his plans to use the striker as a false number 9 on the right or left.
Something very obvious to the public was the gratitude that he showed after his call-up and also how much of a kind, family-oriented man he is.
In a report when Robinho was asked how he felt he added in that he went and told Wife Vivian Guglielmetti who was chuffed for him and son who seemed more excited that he would be playing alongside the very popular Neymar.
It will be very interesting to see how Brazil gets on in their two friendlies as the World Cup 2014 gets ever closer.
