The Coupe de France Final

For the championship match of the 2014 2015 CDF, Paris Saint Germain will face off against the Ligue 2 team, Auxerre. And while the game will take place in their city, at Paris's famed Stade de France, the
Parisians will don the Paris Saint Germain away jersey 2014 2015 for the soccer game. Auxerre, meanwhile, will enjoy the home team position.

Even if they are technically going to be considered the "away" side, though, there is no doubt that PSG are the frontrunners to win this year's Coupe de France. After all, Paris Saint Germain are at the top of Ligue 1, with 23 wins, 11 draws, and only three losses. Auxerre, meanwhile, are currently in eighth place in Ligue 2, with 12 wins, 16 draws, and nine losses.

Still, even if the smart money for the CDF final is on the wearers of the Paris Saint Germain away jersey 2014 2015, Auxerre can't be completely counted out. The second-tier football club has performed in top-flight fashion throughout this year's tournament, starting out back in December with a 4-0 shutout over fifth tier squad Sarreguemines FC, and culminating in early April, with a 1-0 semifinal victory over defending CDF champs, Guingamp.

PSG's Run

Paris Saint Germain, meanwhile, have not had the best recent history at the Coupe de France. With eight titles, they are the second most successful soccer club in tournament annals-behind Olympique Marseille, who have 10. However, the Parisians have not won a Coupe de France trophy since 2010, and have struggled considerably in the contest in recent years.

In 2011, for instance, PSG returned to the finals in a quest to defend their CDF title, but ultimately lost 0-1 to Lille; in 2012, they were crushed in the quarterfinals, in a 0-3 match against Lyon; and in 2013, they bowed out after the quarters once again, following a tough-to-swallow penalty shootout loss against Evian. Last year was worst of all, though, when fans in the PSG shirt were forced to watch their club exit the tournament thanks to a fluke 1-2 defeat against Montpellier in the round of 32.

However, throughout the 2014 2015 Coupe de France, Paris Saint Germain have looked more focused and determined than they have in years. Starting, appropriately, with a 3-0 win over Montpellier in the round of 64, PSG's 2014 2015 CDF campaign has been nearly faultless. They've also won effortless victories over Bordeaux (2-1 in the round of 32), Nantes (2-0 in the round of 16), Monaco (2-0 in the quarterfinals), and Saint-Etienne (4-1).

Can PSG win their first Coupe de France title in five years, and the first of their recent "golden age"? Or will Auxerre surprise everyone with a victory?
