Eintracht Frankfurt
- July 31, 2018
Established in 1963, the Bundesliga league is the top-flight soccer tournament which takes place in Germany. The founding members of this were Werder Bremen, Schalke 04, FC Koln, Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart. Also, they have most recently welcomed RB Leipzig back in 2016. With such a fantastic mix of teams, this league is most definitely one to look out for this season.
With the beginning of the 2018/19 fixtures just around the corner, we wanted to put together this article to explore the scheduling of the games. From who has the best stakes at getting to the final, to how the overall tournament could turn out, this post covers it.
Fixtures and Notable Dates
The beginning of this year’s tournament kicks off on the 24th August 2018 and is expected to end on the 18th May 2019. Starting off the fixtures, current Champions Bayern Munich play in their home grounds at Allianz Stadium against Hoffenheim. And the

In 2013 2014, the German Bundesliga season ended with Bayern Munich as the champions, Borussia Dortmund as the runners-up, and Schalke 04 in third place. Bayer Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg rounded out the top five. Now, in the wake of the opening week of 2015 - 2016 Bundesliga play, it's as if we've found a time warp back to the 2013 2014 season, for how similar today's standings look like the final rankings from that season.
Indeed, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke 04 are the opening week's top three performing football clubs. Bayer Leverkusen, meanwhile, are in fifth, while VfL Wolfsburg are just outside the top five, at sixth place. Talk about déjà vu.
Two Returns to the Top
For Bayern Munich, returning to the top of the Bundesliga table is more or less a foregone conclusion at this point. The soccer club has won 25 German championship titles since inception, including six of the past 10 Bundesliga - June 05, 2015
Eintracht Frankfurt didn't win the 2014 2015 German Bundesliga title. In fact, they weren't anywhere close, finishing the campaign in ninth place with a record of 11 wins, 12 draws, and 13 losses. Furthermore, Frankfurt's Eagles haven't won a German top-flight title since 1959, and haven't collected so much as a trophy-be it a Bundesliga title, a DFB Pokal win, or a continental cup victory-in many years. However, this season the football club does have at least one claim to fame, and that's attacking midfielder Alexander Meier who won the Bundesliga Golden Boot 2015 award.
Alexander Meier is 32 years old and has been playing at Eintracht Frankfurt since 2004 2005. He's always been a good player-albeit, a slightly inconsistent one. However, this year, Meier wasn't only the best player wearing the Eintracht Frankfurt home shirt 2014 2015, but arguably one of the best soccer players in all of Germany.
Top Scorer

After Eintracht Frankfurt finished 13th in the 2013 2014 Bundesliga, most soccer fans didn't expect much out of the club for the 2014 2015 season. After all, while the team has won the Germany's top
flight football title before (once, in 1959), they've struggled a fair amount since then. In fact, just a few years ago, in 2011 2012, the Eagles were relegated to the second division. They fought their way back, and even finished in sixth place in the premier division the next year, but that was the closest fans could get to seeing the Eintracht Frankfurt football kit on the Bundesliga podium in nearly 20 years.
With all of those things considered, it's pretty impressive that the Eagles ended 2014 in ninth place on the league table. However, the club has more room for improvement in 2015, - November 05, 2014The 2014 2015 soccer season started out brilliantly for Eintracht Frankfurt. Not only did the football squad win its first match in this year's DFB Pokal competition, but they also spent the first seven weeks of Bundesliga play amassing a solid
record of 3 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses. That's markedly better than the 2013 2014 season start, where the Eagles lost three of its first four matches, and took 16 weeks of play to grab a third victory. In fact, the strong commencement to 2014 2015 was enough to win some new fans over to the side of the Eintracht Frankfurt soccer jersey.
