England are the joint oldest national football side, they played their first international match in 1872 versus Scotland. Their traditional colours are white shirt and blue shirts at home. The England away kit is often red; occasionally they have a blue kit instead.

This year Nike has taken over from Umbro as the teams kit manufacturer, this has resulted in the launch of completely new kits.

People all over England and around the world support the English national side. During big tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship there is a huge surge in support as people of all ages and from all backgrounds rally to support the team and join in with national pride.

As such each of the kits, including the England kids away shirt are sold in sizes to suit a large range of people from tiny babies to adults.

The England kids' away shirt is identical to the adult version but made available to fit the smaller sizes of young children. This year's brand new strip follows the traditional red colour. The England crest is embroidered in gold colour, there is also a Nike Swoosh.

This is a simple and elegant shirt with traditional collar and buttons. This year is the 150th anniversary of the English Football Association; this shirt is designed in celebration of that fact.

England's national ground is Wembley Stadium in London. Here the team play all their home games and are usually well supported by fans. As a team they also travel the world playing in their England away kit on their opponent's home turf.

Following the team during away games is a costly experience, and as such support during these matches is often more limited.

Next year will be the 20th edition of the FIFA World Cup it will be held next summer in Brazil. At present the English national side has secured 1 World Cup victory in 1966, this is signified by the single star on the England home and away kit.

Qualifying for this next round is currently underway with England in group H along with Ukraine, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland and San Marino.

With 2 games left to play England are currently sitting at the top of the group with 16 points. We are unlikely to see the England away kit during these matches as both are to be played at home. With Poland and Montenegro left to play they need to win both matches to ensure guaranteed qualification for Brazil 2014.

These 2 teams present a formidable challenge and qualification is by no means a given.

If the team qualify there will be a large number of fans who would relish the opportunity to travel to Brazil and watch their countries players wearing the England away kit during World Cup games.  The cost of this journey is extremely restrictive though.

The cheapest package available is around £3,000 soaring to nearly £15,000 with no match tickets included. For a seat in the Maracana Stadium for the final you will have to pay £682.

It seems as though if the team do make it through the qualifying stages many fans will be supporting the team watching matches at home on the television.  A great way to show support is by wearing one of the team jerseys.

An England kids away shirt costs around £38 with an adult one slightly more. This is a much more affordable way of supporting the team whether they are at home or away, playing a friendly or a major international.
