After FC Porto managed a surprise 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich last week, in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal, it looked as if the Portuguese club was on the way to becoming the big Bayern Munich Away Shirt 2014 - 2015Cinderella story of the tournament. The Bavarians dashed those speculations against the rocks on Tuesday afternoon, surging back to beat Porto 6-1, win the quarterfinal on an aggregate score of 7-4, and secure a spot in the UCL semifinals for 2014 2015. Needless to say, it was a big afternoon for Munich football, and you can celebrate it now, with a new FC Bayern shirt from Soccer Box!

FC Porto

From the beginning of the 2014 2015 Champions League, many football analysts expected the Bavarians to be potential contenders for the title. After all, the German team are set to easily win their third straight Bundesliga title this year. Add the fact that they've done very well in recent UCL competitions (semifinals in 2014, champions in 2013, runners-up in 2012), and no one expected the wearers of the FC Bayern shirt to exit this football tournament after the quarterfinals.

After the first leg against FC Porto, though, it looked like a quarterfinal elimination was not only possible, but likely. Donning the Bayern Munich away jersey 2014 2015 for a match at Porto's Estadio de Dragao, the Bavarians fell two points behind within the first 10 minutes of play, en route to a 1-3 loss.

The away leg defeat left FC Bayern Munich fans and players alike reeling. In the entire 2014 2015 Bundesliga, the Bavarians have failed to keep clean sheets only nine times. (They've played 29 matches, so far.) Of those nine games where the opposing team managed to score, there have been only two occasions where Munich allowed more than one goal.

Needless to say, the fact that Porto managed to sneak three goals by Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was a shock. It may have been an away match, but rarely does Bayern lose their composure in such thorough fashion.

The Home Leg

Luckily, when the Bavarians traded the away version of the FC Bayern shirt for the home shirt, they got their mojo back. The home leg of the UCL quarterfinals-played on Tuesday, April 21st at Munich's own Allianz Arena-was a complete opposite of last week's away fixture.

For one thing, Porto only managed to get one goal-73-minute shot from Jackson Martinez-past Neuer. For another, Bayern's offensive lineup truly played like their lives (or more accurately, their 2014 2015 Champions League chances) depended on it.

Starting with a 14-minute goal from Thiago, the Bavarians were simply unstoppable. Four more goals before the end of the first half (including scores from Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller, and a brace from Robert Lewandowski) more or less guaranteed Munich's victory by the halfway mark. A late match point from Xabi Alonso, meanwhile, re-asserted FC Bayern's dominance, and sent Porto packing in style.

Compared to how the Bavarians performed last week, while wearing the Bayern Munich away jersey 2014 2015, Tuesday's 6-1 victory was even more impressive. Clearly, if there's any soccer team that can not only succeed under pressure, but also flourish, that team is Bayern Munich.

What's next? Who will the Bavarians face in the semifinals? Could the German squad be headed back to the championship? We will find out soon, but in the meantime, you can pick up a new FC Bayern shirt from Soccer Box! Celebrate Munich's at-home successes with a home shirt, or pick up an away jersey or home jersey for variety.
