The Bavarians dashed those speculations against the rocks on Tuesday afternoon, surging back to beat Porto 6-1, win the quarterfinal on an aggregate score of 7-4, and secure a spot in the UCL semifinals for 2014 2015. Starting with a 14-minute goal from Thiago, the Bavarians were simply unstoppable. Four more goals before the end of the first half (including scores from Jerome Boateng and Thomas Muller, and a brace from Robert Lewandowski) more or less guaranteed Munich's victory by the halfway mark. A late match point from Xabi Alonso, meanwhile, re-asserted FC Bayern's dominance, and sent Porto packing in style.
