It's a good time to be a fan in the FC Porto jersey. Not only is the Portuguese football club sitting in second place in the 2014 2015 Premeira division-an improvement over their third-place finish last year-but they also just earned a spot in the semifinals of the eighth annual Taça da Liga. The Porto Dragons have not yet won a title at the event, though they have finished as runners-up on two occasions (once in 2010 and once in 2013). Could the 2014 2015 incarnation of the soccer tournament finally bring about a title for the squad?

Taça da Liga History
Since being founded in 2007, the Taça da Liga has become one of the most exciting knockout football tournaments in all of Portugal. FC Porto has participated in all eight incarnations of the tournament. In fact, a win this year would make the Dragons the second most successful team in the history of the event.
Of course, the most successful is Benfica. The football club has won five of the seven tournaments that are on the history books and will be looking to make it six this year. Benfica beat the wearers of the FC Porto jersey for one of those titles (in 2010), and toppled four other teams in other years.
The 2014 2015 EventÂ
So far, fans in the Porto youth home shirt 2014 2015 can rest easy knowing that their club's tournament hopes for this year are alive and well. After receiving a bye into the third round, the Dragons made a rousing arrival into the event.
Drawn into Group D for the third round, FC Porto claimed the top spot with three wins and one draw. The last of those wins came just this week, a 4-1 home victory over Academica de Coimbra. The big home victory ensured advancement for the Dragons into the knockout phase-even though every other team in the group still has one fixture left to play.
The home win over Academica brought FC Porto's point total in Group D to 10. The closest team on the table, Uniao de Madeira, only has six points. In other words, the Dragons can't be caught, and will now progress easily to the semifinals of the 2014 2015 Taça da Liga! Celebrate the milestone with a new FC Porto jersey or youth shirt today!
MaritimoÂ
You'll want to have your Porto youth home shirt 2014 2015 or adult away jersey ready by February 12th. That day, the Dragon squad is set to face off against fellow premier division football club, Maritimo. The match will be played away from home, at Maritimo's Estadio dos Barreiros.
Based on recent statistics, FC Porto should be the frontrunner in the semifinal match. After all, Maritimo has traditionally dragged several slots behind the Dragons in regular season league standings. However, a look at the head-to-head comparison between the two football teams reveals that the home squad is normally the victor, and the away team the loser.
Porto can't afford to lose the February 12th match-even if they are playing away from home. The club needs a win in that game to advance to the finals and to have a chance of finally winning a league tournament title.
So root for the team today with a new FC Porto jersey from Soccer Box! Whether you are looking for an adult away jersey, a youth home shirt, or even a 2014 2015 third jersey.
