In what was a thoroughly exciting, frequently unpredictable World Cup, the Germany national football club rose to the top as the most consistent team in the tournament. The win marked Germany's fourth World Cup title, tying Italy for the second most World Cup victories of any country. All four of those wins are celebrated by the brand new Germany World Cup winners t-shirt, a great new Adidas design that functions as the pitch-perfect souvenir for the most important event in football.

The Germany winners shirt, as well as 2014 World Cup soccer jerseys and other merchandise for virtually every nation that competed in this year's tournament, can be found now on the Soccer Box online store. In other words, if you did not get a chance to buy a jersey for your favorite team before the World Cup, now is the time to do so. These shirts are great ways to remember the 2014 World Cup, especially for those who spent 10s or even hundreds of hours watching matches throughout the month-long tournament.

The New German Legacy

The Germany World Cup winners t-shirt is not just a piece of football merchandise, designed to cash in on a team's resounding victory at a glorious sporting event. On the contrary, the shirt is a sign of a long and impressive legacy that Germany has forged in the sport of football over the years.

Indeed, Germany's four World Cup wins in 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014 mark the nation as one of the best in all of football. Sure, Brazil still has the edge in terms of total wins with five. However, Germany's additional four runner-up finishes (compared to Brazil's two), not to mention the way that the German squad mopped the floor with Brazil this summer (the semifinal match between the two teams ended in a 7-1 win for Germany), proves that the two nations football legacies are very nearly equal.

Other World Cup Successes

However, while Germany may have ended this summer's World Cup as the only team in contention without a loss, that doesn't mean that it is the only team from the tournament worth celebrating. On the contrary, so many other teams made tremendous splashes throughout the Cup, and at Soccer Box, we are still selling all of our 2014 World Cup soccer jerseys as celebration of that fact.

While Argentina ended the tournament as the runners-up, perhaps the team most deserving of accolades (after Germany, of course), is The Netherlands. After smashing Spain in a 5-1 group stage match early in the tournament, Holland went on to defeat Australia, Chile, Mexico, and Costa Rica in some of the most exciting matches of the Cup.

Many wondered if sheer momentum would carry The Netherlands through to a first-time World Cup victory. It was not to be, with an incredibly close semifinal match against Argentina officially ending the Dutch hopes, but The Netherlands team still deserves recognition.

The Holland shirt is not the only kit in the bunch of World Cup soccer jerseys worthy of celebration, either. Kudos must also be given to the United States, who made it past a "group of death" when no one expected them to do so, and who provided one of the most thrilling showings of the entire tournament in the round of 16.

The match, a 2-1 extra time loss against Belgium, may have ended sadly for United States fans and players alike, but it will, at very least, always be remembered for the performance of American goalkeeper Tim Howard. Howard very nearly fended off Belgium all by himself, making 16 saves more than had ever been recorded in a FIFA match. It was a virtuosic performance that deserves to be remembered and celebrated for years to come.
