The first half of the 2014 2015 Serie A has been rough for Inter Milan. The prestigious football club
looked to be in a good position for growth at the end of last season. Indeed, after a dismal 9th place finish in 2012 2013, the club finished 2013 2014 in fifth place. Now, though it looks like the wearers of the Inter Milan shirt are headed in the other direction: nearly halfway through the current Serie A run, the soccer club is in 11th place on the standings table.
The good news for Internazionale is that, in Serie A, the end of 2014 isn't coinciding perfectly with the season's midway point. The 20 squads in the division have each only played 16 games so far, which leaves 22 matches left to reach the annual league total of 38. That gives the club significant time to turn things around and climb back up the standings table, and you can root for their success today by picking up a new Inter Milan away jersey 2014 2015 or Nike home shirt at Soccer Box!
A Long Road Back
While Inter may have plenty of time to repair its placement on the 2014 2015 Serie A standings table, though, that doesn't mean the journey is going to be easy. On the contrary, Milan's soccer squad has a long road back if they are going to return to the top five by next spring.
Consider this: Juventus, the team currently leading the division, has a nearly flawless record of 12 wins, three draws, and one loss; Sampdoria, meanwhile, rounds out the top five with six wins, nine draws, and one loss. Internazionale, meanwhile, has won five games, drawn six, and lost five.
In other words, if the wearers of the Inter Milan shirt are going to return to the upper echelons of the league rankings, they really can't afford to lose many more matches. After all, they've already lost almost as many games (eight) as they did in the entire 2013 2014 season!
A Lack of Consistency
The odd thing is that Inter Milan this fall has gone back and forth between playing very, very well and playing with mediocre style at best. In August and September, for instance, they nabbed a pair of huge (and hugely exciting) home victories. The first came in a 7-0 Europa League football fixture against Iceland's UMF Stjarnan, and next in a 6-0 domestic league triumph over Sassuolo.
On the other hand, the squad hasn't done as well this season in the Inter Milan away jersey 2014 2015. Their month of November was particularly frustrating, starting with a 0-2 away loss against Parma, and ending with a 2-4 away defeat from Roma. In between, they added three draws to their league soccer record (including a 1-1 away fixture with crosstown rivals, AC Milan), but failed to collect any wins.
Luckily, Inter won their last away game of the year, beating Chievo 2-0. And while Chievo is one of the lower-ranked teams in the division right now, it's still good to see that Internazionale can win matches away from home. Of the team's five wins, only one other (a 1-0 victory over Cesena) happened in an away game.
On the Horizon
So are better things in store for the squad in 2015? Will fans find themselves proud to wear the Inter Milan shirt once more? Only time will tell, of course, but unfortunately, it looks like the football club has some big challenges on the way for the first weeks of the New Year.
Indeed, Inter Milan's first match of the year will be a January 6th away fixture against Juventus. In other words, not only will Milan's footballers be playing the toughest team in the division, but they will be doing so without the home field advantage.
With that said, Internazionale did beat Juventus at the latter's home stadium in 2012, so a victory on January 5th isn't entirely out of the question. Fans can help push for such an outcome by putting on a Inter Milan away jersey 2014 2015 and rooting for their football squad today!
