The Italian national football team has been one of the most unpredictable entities in the soccer community throughout 2014. On one hand, the squad has been nearly bulletproof in the early qualifying rounds for the 2016 European Championship. On the other hand, Italy fell apart at the World Cup this past summer, losing matches to Uruguay and Costa Rica en route to a group stage exit from the tournament. The opponent was Croatia, a soccer squad that has been thriving as of late. After winning one match in the 2014 World Cup-against Cameroon-Croatia came to Group H hoping for the chance to qualify for a fourth straight Euro appearance.
Thus far, the odds of Croatia appearing in Euro 2016 are just about guaranteed. The club currently has the same record in the qualifiers as Italia but has the edge thanks to goal difference. A resounding 6-0 home win against Azerbaijan alone will fuel the Croatians to a qualification.
As it turns out, the Croatian squad is just about evenly matched with the wearers of the Italy home shirt 2014 2015. While both teams were hoping for a win to end 2014 in strong fashion, they ended up in a 1-1 dead heat. Both goals were scored in the first 15 minutes of the match.
