The Ivory Coast national football team, commonly referred to as Les Éléphants, is making their third appearance at the World Cup. For the first years of their soccer career fans eagerly wearing the Ivory Coast soccer jersey were disappointed when they did not even enter the competition, and from 1974 to 2002 when they did not qualify. Even when they finally did get to compete in 2006, they did not make it past the group stage.
The same happened in 2010 when the football team qualified for the second time. Despite fan's hopes they did not end up making it past the group stage again. However, this year fans want to see a better push, and will be rooting their team on as they wear the Ivory Coast World Cup home shirt 2014, available at Soccer Box. They are ranked 21st going into the competition, so the world will be watching to see how they do in June.
The Orange ElephantsÂ
The Ivory Coast soccer jersey for home is a very recognizable blaze orange, while their away jersey is a bright green. They both have the Ivory Coast crest, an elephant with its trunk making the "C" for their name, Côte d'Ivoire. The ball in the middle has the initials FIF, which stands for the Fédération Ivoirienne de Football.
The Ivory Coast World Cup home shirt 2014 is sure to be a top seller this year as the team and its fans prepare for the World Cup. Puma, a well-known maker of soccer kits, makes the shirt. The company is going to have multiple football teams present wearing their gear in Brazil in June. All fans of the Ivory Coast need to sport this bright orange shirt to show their spirit for Les Éléphants as they battle their way through their grouping this year.
Make it One Step Closer
Hopefully, the third time is the charm for the Ivory Coast as football fans wait to see if they can actually make it out of their grouping this time around. It is not going to be an easy task though, as they are placed in Group C against Colombia, Greece, and Japan. This is not the first time that the Ivory Coast has had to face off against difficult teams in the first round.
In both their 2006 and 2010 World Cup tries, the Ivory Coast was placed in the "group of death". First, they were grouped with Argentina and the Netherlands, who both went on to the group of 16. Then in 2010 they faced Brazil, Portugal, and North Korea. That year both Brazil and Portugal, two incredibly strong opponents, moved on in the competition leaving the Ivory Coast with another first group loss.
This year fans are wishing for a better turn out, at least progressing past the first group, but it is not going to be easy. Columbia has a FIFA ranking of 4, Greece a ranking of 10, and Japan a ranking of 47. If these teams have anything to say about it, there might be another disappointment in store for the Ivory Coast World Cup home shirt 2014. Is it possible for them to knock out Columbia or Greece to move on past their group for the first time?
Possibly it is time for this underdog player to have its day. They are considered by FIFA to be one of the top players in the African Nation. Win or lose, football fans are going to be behind them every step of the way as they press on through their group this year. Other football teams may have more World Cups under their belts, but the Ivory Coast has come a long way.
Bring the Orange to Brazil
The Ivory Coast is a newer team in the World Cup compared to some of the other veterans, which is all the more reason to show up and support the players with their home orange Ivory Coast soccer jersey. If they can make it past their first group it will be a record for them, and their fans are needed to help get them there.
