Liverpool Kit 2014 - 2015

The 2014 2015 FA Cup

Liverpool's campaign in the 2014 2015 FA competition has been interesting to watch, to say the least. In fact, the entire tournament has been tumultuous this year, made unpredictable by the early elimination of big contenders like Chelsea and Manchester City.

For fans in the Liverpool 2014 kit, the excitement began back in January. Like the rest of the football clubs in the Premier League, the Reds received a bye into the third round of the tournament, where they were matched against AFC Wimbledon in an away fixture. As a fourth-tier team in English football, Wimbledon didn't present much of a challenge, and the wearers of the Liverpool away jersey 2014 2015 won the January 5th game 2-1.

Round four brought an unexpected challenge for Liverpool, with a scoreless draw against the Bolton Wanderers in the initial January 26th home match. The Reds managed a win in the away game replay, though, beating Bolton 2-1 for the right to progress.

Away Game Successes

Interestingly, Liverpool has really thrived in away fixtures throughout the 2014 2015 FA Cup-and struggled at home. For instance, they sailed through round five with another 2-1 win, this time in an away fixture against Crystal Palace. But with the arrival of the quarterfinals, the wearers of the Liverpool 2014 kit again disappointed at Anfield, drawing 0-0 with second tier club, the Blackburn Rovers.

Fortunately for fans, the Reds have really shown an ability to play well under pressure during their replay fixtures throughout this tournament. When they donned the Liverpool away jersey 2014 2015 last Wednesday for a second shot at the Blackburn Rovers, things could have easily not their way. For one thing, they were playing on another team's home turf; for another, it's been a month since the last FA Cup match, and Liverpool's focus has shifted in that time toward climbing the Premier League table.

When it came time to actually face the Rovers, though, Liverpool looked as focused as they have throughout the tournament. Retaining possession of the ball for two-thirds of match time, the Reds foiled Blackburn's offensive attacks and scored one goal (courtesy of Phillippe Coutinho) to win the match 1-0.

Aston Villa

The Reds will be in the away side position on Sunday, April 19th, when they face off against Aston Villa in the semifinals. However, this time, they won't be playing on another club's turf. The game will be held at Wembley Stadium, as will the championship match scheduled for May 30th.

Looking at the 2014 2015 Premier League standings, the Reds are certainly the favorites to win the semifinals and progress to the championship. Liverpool is currently ranked in fifth place in the domestic division, while Aston Villa is all the way back at 15th. Upsets can happen on a stage as big and high-pressure as Wembley, so fans will just have to wait to see what happens on Sunday!
