Manchester City are one of the biggest clubs in the UK today and boast one of the largest football stadiums in England. They have a successful history which includes them winning the league at the end of the 2011-2012 seasons.
Unfortunately city rivals Manchester United claimed the title at the end of the 2012-2013 season leaving City empty handed.
Manchester City's popularity has increased over the years and many young children support the team.
Parents now have the option to start their kids off young with the Manchester City baby clothes which are available in online shops including Soccer Box.com
The current manager of the Man City soccer jersey is Manuel Pellegrini, his nationality is Chilean and before City he managed Malaga. In the 2009-2010 seasons he also managed popular Spanish team Real Madrid.
Since his move to Manchester City in June 2013, Pellegrini has made many changes and the team as a whole seem to play with much more confidence and style than they did under former manager Roberto Mancini.
Pellegrini made several signings in the summer to bolster the squad including Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo from Sevilla, Stevan Jovetic from Fiorentina and Fernandinho from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Two of these signings in particularly, which are the two from Sevilla have played brilliantly in the Man City soccer jersey so far.
One of the players who seem to have had the spotlight on him the most so far in the 2013 - 2014 season is Man City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart. The media are picking up on every mistake lately after he had a few 'nightmare' matches in goal.
Hart's form first started to dip towards the end of the 2012 - 2013 season and has carried on throughout the 13-14 season, with both minor and major mistakes sometimes costing the team 3 points.
On the first of this Month City played rivals Chelsea and lost the match 1-2, Fernando Torres scored in the 90th minute when Hart failed to stop the ball hitting the back of the net.
This was the last straw for Pellegrini and subsequently on November 3rd Joe Hart was stripped of his Man City soccer jersey giving second choice goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon the chance to prove himself.
Pellegrini was quizzed by the media and responded by stating that he thought Joe Hart would benefit from a 'rest'.
The England international keeper has played 173 games for City since 2006 with barely any breaks for him to take time out.
Second choice goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon started off well with his first match against Norwich City of the 3rd November. The team won 7-0 and he was praised for the saves he did have to make.
He has made 3 appearances so far and has done a great job each time; it makes us wonder if Joe Hart will still be number one next year.
As he was dropped from the City starting 11 he was also dropped by England manager Roy Hodgson. Hart has always been a big favourite to Hodgson but he decided to rest him while he warmed the bench for City.
He did make a return in the friendly against Germany and even though the team lost 0-1 Hart played a blinder.
He was highly rated after the match on the 19th November, compared to his team mates which must have given him and the manager confidence in him.
Pellegrini expressed his joy to the media but insisted that he will not be calling Hart straight back in to first team action.
Tonight however, on the 26th November City take on Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League and Hart has been named as the starting goalkeeper. He will be hoping to prove he is worthy of the Man City soccer jersey.
Meanwhile there have been various reports that Hart would be leaving the club in the January transfer window, however Manuel Pellegrini strongly denies this and insists the England stopper is going nowhere.
The Chilean has already ruled out bringing in Stoke City star keep Asmir Begovic and sending Hart out on loan.
Manchester City face Swansea City in their next game and speculation grows as to whether Joe Hart will regain his place in the first team. The manager refused to comment, not wanting to give anything away.
The England goalkeeper will be desperate to put his recent blunders behind his and concentrate on showing off his great goalkeeping skills, with the World Cup 2014 coming up next year he will want to make sure he can impress Roy Hodgson and gain his place on that plane to Brazil.
Do you think Joe Hart should have been dropped from the first team?
