David Moyes and the United fans will be hoping that things will start to look up for Manchester United after their 5-0 win against German side Bayer Leverkusen last night in the UEFA Champions league.

Sales for the Man United shirts and even the ever popular Manchester United kids football kits have been low which reflects the club's poor form this season.

The UEFA Champions League is a football competition which sees all of the top soccer clubs from around the world take part in competitive football matches in order to claim the Champions title and the trophy.

The current Champions are Bayern Munich as they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the final in May 2013.

The competition starts with 32 teams, to qualify for the competition in our country you must finish in a top 4 spot in the Premier League.

Once these teams are decided they are split up in to 8 teams using a seeding method.

All 8 teams play each other and who comes first and second go through to the next round while the third placed team enters the UEFA Europa League.

The Man United soccer jerseys are one often seen in the Champions League, they have qualified 18 times to the group stage in total making a world record.

After the top two teams are decided they go through to the next round which is when the winners of one group play the runners up of another, the same associations for example Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid are not allowed to be drawn together.

After this it is the quarter finals which are drawn out at random and are not protected from association clashes. The competition continues until the major final when the best team are given their new Champions status.

As i mentioned before Manchester United are renowned for their qualification to the tournament and managed to qualify again this year.

In the group stages they were drawn in to Group A and faced the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk.

On the 17th September 2013 we saw the Man United soccer jerseys beat Bayern Leverkusen 4-2, they then drew 1-1 with Shaktar Donetsk, on the 23rd October 2013 they won 1-0 against Real Sociedad then drew 1-1 with them the month after and yesterday played Leverkusen again and thrashed them 5-0.

The Reds put on a very good show, it was Antonio Valencia who was first on the score sheet when he converted Wayne Rooney's cross.

Things went from bad to worse for the hosts with an own goal from Emir Spahic. Johnny Evans added the third when Bayer did not clear the ball quick enough.

England international Chris Smalling then scored in his Man United soccer jerseys boosting his chances of a World Cup call up.

To finish the German side off Nani scored in the 88th minute after a great through ball from Ryan Giggs.

Manchester United have technically qualified due to their position in the group, however they face Shaktar Donetsk  and if they lose against the Ukrainians they will not necessarily win the group.

Meanwhile Bayer Leverkusen could still go through if they beat Real Sociedad and Shaktar Donetsk lose to Manchester United.

Next the Man United soccer jerseys will be facing what should be a tougher opponent, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Barcelona and Real Madrid all in the mix it will be a challenge for the Premier League club.

The Reds will be hoping that this is a big turning point following a rather disappointing season so far, the 5-0 definitely took some pressure off David Moyes shoulders too.

So far the team have won 6 games out of a possible twelve leaving them in 6th place, 7 points behind table leaders Arsenal.

Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and the run of poor form the Manchester United kids football kits have not been so popular.

In the 2012 - 2013 season they were one of the most sold kits of the season and Van Persie shirt personalisation was often requested.
