Officially Launched and Available Now the Manchester City home Kit 2015 - 2016

The football shirt is only a slight departure from the 2014 2015 home kit, featuring a more formal polo-style collar and jettisoning the navy blue trim, but keeping the same traditional sky blue aesthetic. The Launch

Where many football clubs have launched their 2015 2016 kit designs just by releasing videos or promotional photographs online, the Sky Blues took a more personal approach for the introduction of the Manchester City home shirt 2015 2016. While the club did show off their new jerseys to the world through photos, the photos they used were actually selfies that Man City stars snapped with fans.

Indeed, several pictures were released online, featuring Sky Blues players and fans clad in the new white-collared home shirt. One selfie featured Pablo Zabaleta with his arm around a major Manchester City fan, while another photo showed Wilfried Bony in a similar pose with a different fan. A third selfie depicted Joe Hart wearing a vibrant deep purple goalkeeper shirt posing with a fan in a cool new white and sky blue presentation jacket. Each selfie shot was shared by the official Manchester City FC account on Twitter. It was a neat way to launch a new kit for the modern era, and it gave a few fans experiences they'll probably remember for the rest of their lives.

A Traditional Kit Design

For how thoroughly modern the launch of the new Manchester City home shirt 2015 2016 was, it's ironic just how timeless and traditional the jersey looks. Kit manufacturer Nike says that the football shirt was "inspired by classic Manchester City designs of the past," and the look back in time is evident from the very first glimpse of the shirt.

For the most part, the new Man City home kit is a throwback because of the collar and the color combination. Last year's home jersey featured a sleek and unique block V-neck collar, rendered in deep navy blue that nicely offset the shirt's sky blue color. This year's shirt trades the V-neck for a classic button-up polo collar, and the navy blue trim for a smart white look. There are also bands of white on the end of each sleeve, as well as strips of white running along either side of the football shirt, from the armpit down.
