For a long time this season, Olympique Marseille looked like the frontrunner to take the 2014 2015 French Ligue 1 title. Thanks to an eight-week winning streak that stretched from late August to the end of October, the Olympians were able to pass Paris Saint Germain on the league standings table and defend their position as kings of the hill. Things got dodgier after that, with losses against Lyon, PSG, and Monaco all weakening Marseille's position, but the club's luck didn't really seem to run out until the New Year. Now, Olympique is shooting to break a month-long dry spell with a win this weekend at Toulouse, and you can help by picking up a new Marseille FC jersey and rooting for the football team today!
You can find your new Olympians kit at Soccer Box, where we carry an array of official merchandise for this great French football club. Grab a grey and black Olympique Marseille away shirt 2014 2015, for the club's away fixture at Toulouse this weekend. Or go for a blue and white Adidas home jersey, perfect for fixtures at the team's own Stade Velodrome. With either shirt, you'll be ready to root for Marseille FC as they head into the finishing stretch of the 2014 2015 football season.
The Dry Spell
Above all else, fans in the Marseille FC jersey are merely hoping that the Olympians can shake themselves out of their recent dry spell. The club hasn't won two back-to-back Ligue 1 fixtures since November, and hasn't won a game period in a month now.
On one level, Olympique's troubles began all the way back in October. Following their eighth consecutive league win, in a home fixture with Toulouse, it seemed as if the soccer squad was unstoppable. That perception was disproved when the team donned the Olympique Marseille away shirt 2014 2015 on October 26th, to take on Lyon. They lost that game 0-2, and their momentum drifted away as well.
Since then, the Olympians have had a real problem with consistency. The lull has been especially pronounced since the beginning of the New Year. Marseille's 2015 record has included two wins (over Guingamp and Evian), three losses (against Montpellier, Nice, and Caen-all inferiorly ranked teams), and three draws (with Rennes, Reims, and Saint-Etienne).
The streak of lukewarm performances gave Lyon an opening to streak past the Olympians and claim the top spot on the 2014 2015 Ligue 1 table. A few weeks later, PSG slipped past too, leaving Marseille in third place. And since Olympique hasn't won a game since January 31st, it's easy to see why the wearers of the Marseille FC jersey are getting restless for some good news.
ToulouseÂ
Perhaps the dry spell will finally be broken this coming weekend, when the football squad dons the Olympique Marseille away shirt 2014 2015 to take on Toulouse FC.
The away game looks like a perfect opportunity for the Olympians to make up for some lost ground. TFC, after all, is one of the lowest ranked soccer clubs in the 2014 2015 Ligue 1, and Marseille beat them easily back in October.
Granted, Olympique has struggled recently against the teams it beat handily in the fall. In August, the club won 4-0 in a home game against Nice; on January 24th, they lost 1-2 in an away game. In September, Marseille won 5-0 in an away fixture at Reims; a few weeks ago, the two teams tied 2-2. Without momentum on their side, it's unclear how well the Olympians can play.
Still, you can root for the squad and hope for a victory at TFC this weekend. Do so by picking up a brand new Marseille FC jersey, available at Soccer Box! Whether you are shopping for a white and blue home shirt, a grey Adidas away jersey, or a sleek black and blue third shirt, you can find it at our store.
