The Mexican national football team, along with teams around the globe is gearing up for the FIFA 2014 World Cup that is being staged in the South American country of Brazil from 12th June to 13th July this year.Â
In preparation they have recently launched the brand New Mexico soccer jersey that will be worn by the team throughout the tournament.

During the last World Cup in 2010 the Mexico soccer jersey was the best selling Adidas kit, despite the team being eliminated at the hands of Argentina in the 2nd round, known as the Round Of 16.
Following this success the Mexican Football Federation and Adidas extended their deal until at least 2018.
The financial details of this deal were not publicly released but are expected to be around $10m per year.
The brand new Mexico soccer jersey that will be worn by the team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup is primarily green with red and white details.
The new design is striking, the teams crest sits in the centre of the chest encircled by a bold lightening design. Below this the green color is adorned with pinstripes.
This is a bold design that is said to be representative of the explosive power of the Mexican football team.
The colors of the Mexico soccer jersey have not always been green.
The original kit colors were burgundy and navy blue, similar to the Spanish colors perhaps representative of the countries past ties with the Spanish Empire.
In 1958 the team swapped to the green, red and white color scheme that is taken from the Mexican national flag.
Until 1979 the burgundy colors were used for the away kit until these were replaced by white in 1978.
The FIFA World Cup is one of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar. It is held every 4 years.

Mexico is part of the CONCACAF qualifying group. CONCACAF were only allocated 3 World Cup places for Brazil 2014 and had to alter their qualifying process.
In the group stage Mexico finished top of their group and moved onto the 4th round. The 6 teams played each other 4 times meaning the round consisted of 10 games each.
After the 10 games the team that wears the Mexico soccer jersey were 4th and not eligible for automatic qualification.
In order to qualify the team wearing the Mexico soccer jersey were thrust into the intercontinental play-off round.
Mexico were to play a 2 legged game against New Zealand, the winner would advance to the tournament finals in Brazil this summer.
The games were played in November 2013. Mexico had an outstanding result proving they deserve their place in the finals winning 9-3 on aggregate.
The draw has now been made to allocate the 32 finalists into Groups for the 1st stage of the tournament.
There are 8 groups each consisting of 4 teams. Each group is drawn 1 team from each of 4 Pots. The 1st Pot is seeded teams, the remaining are split geographically to provide a good mix of teams in each group.
The Mexico was drawn into Group A.
Competing alongside Mexico in Group A we will see the Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon teams wearing their brand new 2014 FIFA World Cup soccer jerseys.
The top 2 teams in each Group advance to the Round of 16. This is likely to be a tough Group.
Brazil the host nation is favorite to win the entire competition. They are currently on top form having won all 5 games in the Confederations Cup including beating current World Cup holders Spain.
Mexico and the USA is fairy evenly matched, it is likely to be 1 or the other that secure the 2nd place spot and advance to the next round.
Since 1994 Mexico have qualified for every World Cup being knocked out in the Round of 16 each time.
In their 2014 World Cup soccer jersey they will be hoping to get past the Group stage and beat their best place finish of the Quarter Finals in 1970 and 1986.
