The 2014 FIFA World Cup has been one of the most eagerly anticipated and exciting tournaments for many years. 5 African
nations qualified for the finals in Brazil; Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Ghana. For the 1st time 2 African teams made it out of the group stages, certainly putting on great performances of soccer skill and entertainment. The Algeria football jerseys, and Nigeria soccer shirts were the latest casualties of the knockout stage, but neither side went easily.

This is only the 5th time that Nigeria has appeared in the World Cup finals; their best performances were in 1994 and 1998 when they did indeed make it to the Round of 16. With 4 points to Iran's 1 Nigeria was in a strong position, but their bought against Lionel Messi and the might of the Argentina soccer jerseys would not be an easy game.

Iran has been playing surprisingly well and held Nigeria to a 0-0 draw in their 1st group stage match. The 1st display of the Nigeria 2014 World Cup home shirt saw the team beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0, and secure 3 points, giving them a tally of 4, and 2nd place in the group.
