For the first two months of 2014 2015 Premier League play, arguably no team seemed to be struggling as much as Newcastle United. The football club had finished the 2013 2014 season in the top 10. However, the squad's return to the pitch was not successful, starting with a 2-0 week-one loss against Manchester City. That defeat left the Magpies in dead last on the division standings table. They continued to struggle in the bottom reaches of the table until a mid-October win against Leicester City. The club has since won four matches in a row and rebounded to eighth place-a recovery that you can celebrate today by stopping by the NUFC store at Soccer Box!

A Disappointing Start

In the early weeks of the 2014 2015 Premier League, things looked dire indeed for the Magpies. Bad luck brought the squad a first-week fixture against Manchester City, the team that won the English football trophy in the spring. Predictably, Manchester won the match, beating NUFC 2-0-and in Newcastle's home stadium, no less.

A home loss against a reigning championship team was simply not the best way for Newcastle United to launch a new season. After that loss, the squad struggled to build momentum for weeks, drawing matches with Aston Villa and Crystal Palace before losing another fixture, this time with Southampton.

The second loss seemed to solidify Newcastle as one of the bottom teams in the 2014 2015 Premier League. Unsurprisingly, the visits to Soccer Box's NUFC store were few and far between for a few weeks.

Things hardly got better in subsequent football matches. NUFC continued to draw matches against teams that it should have been beating (Hull and Swansea City). They also suffered another loss, this time versus Stoke City.

The Climb

But then, as mid-October approached and the season neared its two-month mark, things suddenly seemed to turn around for NUFC. On October 18th, players donned the Newcastle United home shirt 2014 2015 to take on Leicester. The fixture marked NUFC's first division victory of the fall-a notable fact in and of itself. More notable, though, is that the 1-0 home victory seemed to give Newcastle the hunger and momentum they needed to find their way back.

Since that win against Leicester, Newcastle United hasn't missed a beat. In consecutive weeks, the squad defeated two clubs that placed higher last season: Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. The Magpies hadn't won a match against Liverpool since 2012.

Newcastle United's win over Liverpool brought the football squad into 11th place on the division standings table. And on November 9th, a commanding 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion moved them firmly into the top 10. The team's rise from the ashes has been thrilling to watch, and it has also increased the popularity of the NUFC store at Soccer Box.

Looking Forward

Could Newcastle conceivably compete for a top five finish in the 2014 2015 Premier League? Remarkably, given the squad's early struggles, it's possible. The team will face some sizable challenges in the coming month (games against Chelsea and Arsenal), but they should also have easy wins (against bottom-of-the-pile teams like Queens Park Rangers and Burnley).

Furthermore, a recent 2-0 win versus Man City in the League Cup proves that NUFC has what it takes to beat even the best club in English football. So grab a Newcastle United home shirt 2014 2015 and root for the Magpies in that upcoming home match against Chelsea: who knows what could happen?

Cheer for a continuation of Newcastle's Cinderella story by stopping by Soccer Box's NUFC store today and picking up a 2014 2015 home shirt (or away shirt)!
