1. Palermo's 11th Coaching Change in Two Seasons

    25th February. By Danni Biggs.
The struggling Serie A Palermo has hired Uruguayan Diego Lopez as new coach, replacing Eugenio Corini and making it Palermo's 11th coaching change in two seasons.  Winning just 2 games out of 21, 42 year old Diego took on the job to revive the mighty Palermo who sits just two points above bottom of the table.

Eugenio Corini was named as Palermo's coach in November 2016, their third that season in fact. After just 7 games in charge, Corini a former Palermo player himself took the decision to resign as coach after winning just one game in 7. His decision came just two days after Palermo were beaten 1-0 at home by Inter Milan. A pained and upset Corini said "This is a decision that I've taken with integrity and lucidness, which makes me feel great pain, but which seems the fairest and most logical option right now."

  2. Palermo Looking for a New Buyer; What Could the Future Bring for the Club?

In mid-December, Maurizio Zamparini-the current President of U.S. Citta di Palermo-wrote an open letter to fans, letting them know that he was in the process of looking for a new buyer for the football club. The letter discussed the current financial state of the union at Palermo, as well as what Zamparini clearly sees as an unfair financial inequity between Italy's top soccer organizations. Finally, Zamparini said that he was looking for "an Arabian, Chinese, or Russian millionaire who can afford to lose money," stating that he can no longer afford to sink his own money into the Eagles.

    The Zamparini Era

Zamparini acquired Palermo in 2002. In his open letter to fans, he says that, back then, the organization was "a club full of

  3. New Designs for the Palermo Kit 2015 - 2016 Unveiled by Joma

U.S. Citta di Palermo fans got a treat on June 30th, as the Italian football club unveiled a slew of new kit designs for the 2015 2016 season. Soccer Box already has stock available of the new Palermo kit 2015 - 2016 home and away jersey designs, while new versions of the team's third jersey and goalkeeper shirt have also been introduced.

Once again, Palermo's official jerseys come from Joma, serving their second year as the soccer club's kit manufacturer. Previously, Palermo had worked with Puma (from 2012 through last year) and Legea (from 2010 to 2012), while Lotto was the football club's kit manufacturer for the first decade of the 2000s. Joma did stunning work on the squad's uniforms last year, though, and is continuing the tradition of excellence with these new 2015 2016 soccer shirt designs.
