Saturday, May 2nd was a big day for top-flight Italian football, as Juventus beat Sampdoria 1-0 to clinch the 2014 2015 Serie A title. However, for fans of U.S. Citta di Palermo, Saturday brought the third disappointing match outcome in as many weeks. With a scoreless draw at Sassuolo, the Eagles further solidified their spot outside the top 10 in the league standings. Help them turn things around by picking up a new Palermo shirt from Soccer Box and showing your support for the team.
In many ways, the 11th place slot where the Eagles are currently situated in Serie A is still evidence that the squad has performed above expectations this year. After all, Palermo were promoted into the top-flight this year after a division winning performance in the Serie B. For the club to be on the cusp of a top 10 finish is absolutely impressive, and at Soccer Box you can celebrate the strong performance with a new team shirt! We still have stock remaining of the distinctive pink Palermo home jersey 2014 2015, as well as the away shirt and third jersey from this year. The home jersey is even for sale right now, at a 10% off discount.

Still, while 11th place is nothing to be ashamed of for a recently promoted team, it's certainly lower than what the Eagles seemed capable of during the first half of the 2014 2015 season. Indeed, after a strong burst of play toward the end of last year, Palermo reached as high as eighth place in the league standings.
Since the start of 2015, the wearers of the Palermo shirt have struggled to make the same impression. Since December, they've only won five matches. Worse, they went nearly two months without a win, between February and April.
Needless to say, the past few months have been a roller coaster of emotions for fans in the Palermo home jersey 2014 2015. Back at the beginning of April, though, it really looked as if the Eagles were going to rally and improve their position in the Serie A standings.
With a 3-1 away victory at Udinese on April 12th, followed by a 2-1 home win against Genoa a week later, Palermo seemed like they were back in peak form. It was the first time the team had managed two Serie A wins in a row since late October/early November.
Fast forward three weeks, though, and those two victories seem more like flukes than like a rally to reach the top 10. On April 26th, the Eagles lost a home game against Parma, and the following week, they settled for a 2-2 draw with Torino. Both outcomes were disappointing for fans in the Palermo shirt-even if only one of them was an outright loss.
Even so, fans were hoping that things would improve this past weekend at Saturday's away fixture with Sassuolo. After all, when the Eagles played Sassuolo's Black and Greens in a home game last December, they had won 2-1.
That particular December fixture had been a real thriller for home fans at Palermo's Stadio Renzo Barbera. Donning the Palermo home jersey 2014 2015, the Eagles had taken the lead early on with a three-minute-mark goal from Luca Rigoni. Excitement surged in the game when the Black and Greens finally equalized at 85 minutes, seemingly paving the way for a 1-1 draw. Magnificently, though, the home side managed to get back into the lead at 90+3, thanks to a point from Andrea Boletti.
Early scores and late game, edge-of-your-seat excitement were nowhere to be found at Saturday's match, though. Palermo and Sassuolo shut down every offensive attack that the other team formulated. Worse, virtually every shot the Eagles took seemed to go wide. By the end of full time, the score was still stuck at 0-0.
The dull draw leaves the Eagles in 11th place on the 2014 2015 Serie A table, three points back from the nearest competitor with only four matches left to play this season. Help the team break into the top 10, with a new Palermo shirt from Soccer Box. As mentioned previously, the 2014 2015 home jersey is available for 10% off.
