The past few years have been very kind to Paris Saint Germain. Leading up to 2011 2012, the team had only won the French Ligue 1 soccer title on two occasions in its 40-plus year history. Fast-forward to now, and PSG is the reigning champion in the division, having won two titles back to back. Needless to say, it's a proud time for fans to wear the Paris Saint Germain football strip.
With that said, the Parisians have looked a little less bulletproof in the 2014 2015 Ligue 1 so far. They are currently in third place, trailing behind both Olympique Marseille and Lyon. The club will therefore need to make up a bit of ground in 2015 if the French football trophy is going to remain in Paris. Root for their success today by picking up a brand new PSG away shirt 2014 2015 at Soccer Box!
Soccer Box has a range of PSG gear available, including the blue and red Nike home strip, the white away shirt, and the fiery red third shirt. In other words, no matter which version of the Paris Saint Germain football strip you are looking for, you can find it here.
The State of the Union
Right now, the French Ligue 1 is in the midst of a bit of a break for the holidays. All 20 teams in the division have played 19 games so far, which means the season is at its exact halfway point.
For PSG, 2014 play concluded on December 20th, with an at-home scoreless draw with Montpellier. Meanwhile, 2015 competition will commence on January 10th. For that match, the Parisians will don the PSG away shirt 2014 2015 and head to Stade Armand Cesari to do battle with Bastia.
The three-week break has given Paris Saint Germain fans plenty of time to ponder whether or not their club has what it takes to win a third consecutive Ligue 1 football title. On one hand, PSG is not at the top of the standings table. Of the 19 games the squad has played, they've won 10, drawn 8, and lost only one. Comparatively, Marseille has 13 wins and only two draws, but also has four losses. Similarly, Lyon has 12 wins, three draws, and four losses.
The fact that Paris Saint Germain has only suffered one loss in the 2014 2015 season so far bodes well for the club's chances going forward. The team almost made it all the way through the first half of the season unbeaten. After a 17 game streak without a single loss, PSG was defeated on December 14th in a 0-3 away match with Guingamp.
That loss, coupled with the disappointing scoreless draw against Montpellier, made for a limp end to PSG's 2014. However, since the club has also seen a rash of successes lately-including a six-match winning streak in October and November-it hopefully won't have much of an impact on their momentum going into 2015.
Other TriumphsÂ
In addition to stringing together a great winning streak during the fall-and winning a big home match against Marseille, 2-0-the wearers of the Paris Saint Germain football strip have also had one other significant triumph during the 2014 2015 season: qualifying for the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League.
In each of the past two seasons, Paris Saint Germain was eliminated from Champions League contention after the quarterfinals. This year, fans in the PSG away shirt 2014 2015 are hoping that their team might finally go all the way in the prestigious European tournament.
They're well on their way. Competing in Group F, PSG strung together a record of four wins, one draw, and one loss. They ended up in second place in the group, losing to Barcelona in the away match that decided the final standings. However, the Parisians also won a game against Barca back in September-the first loss of the fall for the on-fire Spanish squad.
PSG will face Chelsea in the round of 16, first at home (on February 2nd) and then away (on March 11th). Those fixtures will be tough given Chelsea's recent success in both domestic and cup play. However, you can root for the Parisians with a brand new Paris Saint Germain football strip, available at Soccer Box! Whether you are looking for the home shirt or away strip, you can find it here!
