Poland Away Shirt 2014 - 2015It's been a difficult span of years for the Poland national football team. Once a prominent force in global soccer during the 1970s and 1980s (in both 1974 and 1982, the Poland team took third place in the World Cup), Poland has fallen off in recent years, failing to qualify at all in 1990, 1994, 1998, and 2010, and failing to advance beyond the group stage when it did qualify in 2002 and 2006. Now, the team has missed qualification once more for this summer's World Cup in Brazil, meaning that the red and white of the Poland football shirt will be absent from the event once again.

Still, life will go on for the Poland team. Already, Soccer Box has stock of the Poland away jersey 2014 2015, which Polish players will wear in their campaign to qualify for the 2016 UEFA European Championships. The shirt is red with a bold white stripe running down the center of the shirt from the collar to the bottom seam. It's a perfect tribute to the Polish flag, and since it's made by Nike (and uses Dri-fit technology) you can bet it's comfortable as well.

Troubles for the Poland Football Shirt

There was a decade or so, between the 1970s and the 1980s, when Poland was a team to watch in virtually any international or global soccer event. In addition to the Poland national team's high placements at the 1974 and 1982 World Cup events, the team won an Olympic gold medal at the 1972 games in Munich, and took the runner-up position four years later in Montreal.

Success was not as prevalent in the team's UEFA endeavors. In fact, Poland never even qualified for the Euro championship until 2008, meaning that the team missed out on a dozen tournaments spanning from 1960 through to 2004. When the Polish team finally did qualify in 2008 (and again in 2012, when it shared hosting duties with the Ukraine), it was stalled and eliminated in the group stage. Poland finished in 14th place at both tournaments.

Poland's struggles continued in the qualification rounds for this year's World Cup event in Brazil. Drawn into Group H of the UEFA qualifying zone (along with England, Ukraine, Montenegro, Moldova, and San Marino), Poland suffered losses to England and Ukraine that eliminated the team from contention and ensured that no variation of the Poland away jersey 2014 2015 would be making its way to the World Cup.

A Push for Euro Qualification

Despite the disappointment that the Poland team is undoubtedly weathering right now as a result of missing World Cup qualification for the third straight time, the team has other things to look forward to. Once the World Cup finishes coverage in July, much of the attention of the soccer community will turn to the qualification rounds for Euro 2016, and Poland will once again have a chance to prove its talents to the world.

Euro qualification begins in September, and the red and white of the Poland away jersey 2014 2015 will be on display during the team's first match against Gibraltar on September 7. Poland has been drawn into Group D for the qualifier, and in addition to Gibraltar, the team will have to contend with Germany (on October 11), Scotland (on October 14), Georgia (on November 14), the Republic of Ireland (in 2015).

As with all qualifying rounds, Poland will face each team twice: once away and once at home. Group D will wrap up its qualification matches on October 11, 2015 with the second meeting between Poland and Ireland. Fans of the Poland national football team will undoubtedly want to follow closely as their team works through the Euro qualification stages.

Fans will also want to have Poland football shirt options available for both home and away games, as five of each will occur between 2014 and 2015 to decide whether or not the team scores a berth at the 2016 European Championships. You can find both types of jerseys at Soccer Box.
