From the looks of it though, that could all be changing. PSV is currently on the top of the Eredivisie standings table, ahead of heavyweight soccer clubs like Ajax, Feyenoord, and Twente. It's quite an improvement for Eindhoven, considering their fourth place finish on the 2013 2014 table! Toppling the Heavyweights

When PSV fell to fourth place in 2008 2009, they lost their chance at a fifth-straight national championship title. Ironically, then, the wearers of the PSV Eindhoven kit would be taking the same chance away from Ajax if they manage to win the 2014 2015 Eredivisie title.

Indeed, Ajax is currently riding high on its own four-year winning streak. The football club has been unstoppable in Netherlands football this decade, winning every season since 2010 2011. Currently, the club is just behind PSV on the 2014 2015 standings, which means they are still very much contenders.

Needless to say, Ajax won't be easily beaten in 2015. While Eindhoven did beat the Lancers earlier this fall-in a 3-1 away match-the fixture was one of the only ones that Ajax has dropped since Eredivisie play started at the beginning of August. You can expect the Lancers to fight very hard during the remaining two-thirds of the 2014 2015 season to attain the elusive five-year winning streak.

Frontrunner Status

If any football team could snap that potential five-year streak, though, PSV is it. The club has been nearly unstoppable since first donning the PSV Eindhoven home shirt at the beginning of August. They've achieved thrilling victories both at home (a mid-August 6-1 match against NAC Breda) and away (a 5-1 victory over Utrecht in late October).

Perhaps most importantly, virtually all of PSV's offensive players have been doing the PSV Eindhoven kit proud this fall. Of the team's eight attackers, half of them have scored three or more goals.

The soccer squad's star is Memphis Depay, a 20-year-old winger, he has been wearing the Eindhoven shirt since his youth career days. He joined the senior squad in 2011, and has played impressively ever since. 2013 2014 was his best run yet, with 43 appearances and 16 goals (including league, cup, and continental play).

It looks like Depay will easily top himself in 2014 2015 though. He's already hit the dozen-goal mark (again, between league and cup play). Considering the fact that it's only November, and that Memphis was out with a groin injury from September 13th to October 20th, that goal tally is fairly remarkable.
