The first use of the brand new Nike manufactured kits has been in the International Champions Cup. This is a friendly tournament that has been played out across America between some of the top European football clubs. This has been an opportunity for Roma to display their brand new football shirt and increase the worldwide recognition of the team.
The Roma football shirt was joined by those of fellow Italian Serie A teams Inter Milan and AC Milan, as well as English teams Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, Spanish side Real Madrid and Olympiacos from Greece. As well as a marketing opportunity and a chance to increase football shirt sales, the tournament was also for pre-season practice and training.

Roma may not have succeeded to finish top of their International Champions Cup group, and made it to the final, but they have had a fantastic opportunity in America. These football games have exposed strengths and weaknesses that can be worked on in training sessions prior to the kickoff of the 2014 2015 Serie A on 31st August. Roma has been drawn into the most interesting, and certainly the most challenging game of Week 1.

The Roma squad will travel to Juventus in early October for what is sure to be their most challenging game of the campaign.
