Is Spartak Moscow back in the race for the 2014 2015 Russian Premier League title? That's what it looks like following the club's 2-0 home victory over Arsenal Tula last weekend. After going without a win both in the league and outside of it for a month and a half, Spartak's victory against Tula could help revitalize their chances at a division title this year. Fans can celebrate that exciting fact with a new Spartak Moscow Nike kit, available at Soccer Box!
Soccer Box has a small but high quality selection of gear for the People's Team this year. Nike, Spartak's kit manufacturer, designed both the home jersey and the away kit, and both are fine traditional football shirts. The Spartak Moscow home jersey 2014 2015 is a cool red kit with a diamond latticework pattern that adds a unique texture. The club's away jersey, meanwhile, is classic white with red trim-and, of course, the Nike swoosh!
The 2014 2015 Season so Far
Players will wear both versions of the Spartak Moscow Nike kit for the duration of the 2014 2015 Russian Premier League. So far, 13 matches have been played, which leaves 17 more to reach the year-ending figure of 30 fixtures per club.
That means that we are just shy of the halfway mark for the 2014 2015 Russian football run. At this point in time, the People's Team is sitting in eighth place-two slots back from where they finished last year. In other words, they'll need to do some work to regain ground.
Not that eighth place is a bad place to be in around the season's halfway mark. Spartak put in a lot of good work at the start of the season, which means that the squad will have an easier time than most climbing back up the ladder.
A Strong Start
At the start of the season, fans had high hopes for Spartak's chances at success. They had ended the 2013 2014 season with a 3-2 home win against crosstown rivals, Dynamo Moscow. If some of that luck and momentum could drift into the Spartak Moscow home jersey 2014 2015, then perhaps a Russian Premier League title could be in the offing.
Indeed, the People's Team launched the 2014 2015 run with much luck and momentum-though most of their early matches were played in the away version of the Spartak Moscow Nike kit. The squad's season opener was a 4-0 triumph over Rubin Kazan. An outstanding two-goal turn from forward Artyom Dzyuba fueled the victory.
Spartak's luck and momentum continued throughout the early months of the 2014 2015 Russian Premier League. The club did pick up a pair of losses-against Krasnodar and Amkar Perm, respectively-but they ultimately won five of their first seven matches. Even better, two of those were triumphs over Moscow rivals, Dynamo, CSKA, and Torpedo.
A Winless Streak
Unfortunately, after those first seven weeks of play, the People's Team hit a bit of a rut. After the win against Torpedo on September 14th, the squad could seemingly only draw or lose matches for the rest of September and the entirety of October.
Surprisingly, the squad's luck ran out shortly after they donned the Nike Spartak Moscow home jersey 2014 2015. At their second home match of the fall (Torpedo was the first), the squad faced Terek Grozny and walked away with a 1-1 draw. The next week, a similar 0-0 outcome came about in a match against current 2014 2015 table leaders, Zenit St. Petersburg. A loss against Ural, a home draw against Lokomotiv Moscow, and a 3-3 dead heat with Kuban Krasnodar sealed the winless run.
Luckily, it looks as if that particular curse was only temporary. On November 9th, Spartak won its first match in nearly two months, besting Arsenal Tula at home, 2-0.
Will things continue to improve for the People's Team? That's the hope, but you can help them along by purchasing a new Spartak Moscow Nike kit and providing some extra fan support. We have both home and away versions of the Nike jersey available.
