When Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea FC face one another on November 29th, at the Spurs' White Hart Lane, it will be an interesting rivalry match between two of London's football clubs. The two teams both had great seasons last year, with the Blues winning the 2014 2015 Premier League title and Tottenham putting forth striker Harry Kane as the breakout star of the domestic season. Both clubs also suffered very poor starts to the 2015 2016 campaign, with Chelsea dipping as far as 16th on the Premier League Table and Tottenham sitting 17th after the first week of competition.
Getting Out of the Rut
The difference between these two soccer clubs is that, while Tottenham Hotspur seem to have escaped their season-opening funk, Chelsea have not. On the contrary, the Blues have had just about the worst season that anyone could have reasonably expected. They've earned only 14 points after 13 weeks of play-a stark contrast to the 33 points they had at the same point in the season last year. Many have called for Jose Mourinho to resign from his position or be fired though the manager remains employed for the moment.
Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, climbed out of the rut in September, after failing to win any of their first four matches. Kane, who tallied 21 goals in league play last season, was the primary reason for the Spurs' fifth-place finish. At the start of the 2015 2016 campaign, though, Kane was the primary reason the Spurs were languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Indeed, it took until September 26th-seven games into Tottenham's Premier League season-for Kane to finally break his scoring dry spell. That match, a 4-1 win against Manchester City, was a turning point for both Kane and Hotspur.
The Return of Harry Kane
Since that match, the 22-year-old Kane has looked like his old self again. He's tallied eight goals in the 
Premier League so far-making him the third most prolific scorer of the season, behind Leicester City's Jamie Vardy and Everton's Romelu Lukaku. He contributed a hat trick in a 5-1 win against AFC Bournemouth and a brace in this past weekend's 4-1 win against West Ham United.
Kane's return to form has boosted Tottenham Hotspur to fifth place on the 2015 2016 Premier League table, just two points behind both Arsenal and Manchester United. The football club is doing well, and while manager Mauricio Pochettino expressed fears for his job after Aston Villa's swift sacking of Tim Sherwood, it looks like he is safe for now.
Jose Mourinho: Safe or Not?
As for Jose Mourinho, it's tough to say whether the widely respected Portuguese soccer manager will be able to hold onto his job at Chelsea if things don't turn around soon. He's had disciplinary troubles with the Football Association this season, and the vast majority of his players-including 2014 2015 standouts Eden Hazard and Diego Costa-seem tired, sloppy, and disenchanted. Of the two coaches, in other words, Mourinho needs a win on November 29th more than Pochettino does.
Things could be looking up for Chelsea following their recent win against Norwich City. In the match, Diego Costa scored the lone goal to give the Blues their first Premier League victory in over a month. Captain John Terry says he is 
hopeful that the win will function as a foundation for newfound momentum and success in the 2015 2016 Premier League. Beating a team as highly ranked as Tottenham Hotspur, undoubtedly, would help enliven spirits at Stamford Bridge.
It's worth noting that the Blues have not only won three of their last four head-to-head fixtures with Tottenham Hotspur, but managed shutout victories in all three of those games. However, those three wins all came at home, and the November 29th match will be played in Spurs territory. The last time Chelsea traveled to White Hart Lane, on New Year's Day, they lost 3-5.
