The FA Cup

Tottenham Hotspur exited the 2014 2015 FA Cup in the same weekend that saw the elimination of Manchester City, Chelsea, and Southampton. Since those clubs are currently the top three teams on the Premier League table, it's obvious that it was a weekend of upsets in the classic association football tournament.

Compared to those teams, the Spurs were relatively minor contenders in the event, and their early elimination isn't nearly as surprising. After all, either Man City or Chelsea could have been tipped as the frontrunner to win the entire competition. In other words, fans in the Tottenham Hotspur boys kit or adult home shirt probably had lower expectations for the FA Cup than supporters of some other Premier League squads.

That statement became especially true after Tottenham Hotspur's debut in the 2014 2015, back at the beginning of January. After receiving a bye into the third round, the club commenced their tournament campaign in lukewarm fashion, drawing 1-1 against Burnley. For a moment, it even looked like the Spurs might exit the contest after the third round.

The soccer squad looked markedly stronger in the replay fixture, though. Fans in the Spurs kids home shirt or adult kit cheered from the stands of White Hart Lane, and Tottenham Hotspur responded with a strong home team performance. They won the soccer game 4-2, eliminating Burnley from the 2014 2015 FA Cup.

Not that the home game was an easy win for the Tottenham Hotspur football squad. On the contrary, the club fell to an early deficit when Burnley scored two goals in the first seven minutes of the match. Luckily, the Spurs were able to answer at the 10-minute mark with a point from midfielder Paulhino. Another goal just before the half-along with two golden scoring opportunities in the first seven minutes of the second half-brought the home team back into a commanding position.

Leicester City

Unfortunately, that same level of momentum was nowhere to be seen in the Leicester City fixture last weekend. Once again, the Spurs were given the opportunity to play at home, which meant that they were surrounded by supporters in the Tottenham Hotspur boys kit, kids jersey, or adult home shirt. Unlike with the second Burnley match, though, the home field advantage here didn't translate to a win.

Things started off well enough for the Tottenham squad. At the 19-minute mark, Andros Townsend scored a penalty goal to give his team a 1-0 lead. Fans in the Spurs kids home shirt 2014 2015 roared their approval. The roars only got louder when that lead held through halftime.

The Spurs held strong until the last 10 minutes of the match, failing to score any other goals, but at least maintaining the defensive strength necessary to block Leicester's scoring opportunities. But Leicester finally found the back of the net at the 83-minute mark. It looked like the game was going to be a draw, and that Tottenham Hotspur was going to have to go through another replay fixture. But then, at 90-2, Leicester City's Jeffrey Schlupp converted an assist to give his team the lead and the win.

It was a nightmarish ending to the game, and to the 2014 2015 FA Cup, for the Spurs. Luckily, the club still has plenty of action to look forward to in the Premier League regular season, as well as in the 2014 2015 Europa League.
