balotelli ac milan home shirtIt is safe to say that Italian side AC Milan have had quite a good season so far, with just a few games left they currently sit third in the Serie A League table. The AC Milan squad includes some well-known ones; former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli and ex Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini are part of the squad. AC Milan play at their home San Siro in Milan and play in their red and black AC Milan home shirt, they are a very popular Italian side where many big footballing stars have played. The latest man to join the side was Mario Balotelli who is Italian, Balotelli has played for Italian teams since he was younger, and he also played for the national Italy squad. The hot-headed striker was signed by AC Milan in 2013 after a three year spell at Manchester City and first pulled on his AC Milan shirt during his debut in February 2013. It was AC Milan manager, Massimilano Allegri who agreed to take troublesome Balotelli on board at Milan, there was speculation for months, rows and spats between Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and Mario Balotelli meant it was almost guaranteed that Balotelli would be stripped of his Manchester City shirt and sold to another team.

Although his behaviour was inappropriate he was great at netting goals. Massimilano was right to take on Balotelli though, the £20 million spent on him soon paid off because as soon as he had pulled on his number 45 AC Milan home shirt he was scoring goals. He first netted during his debut and then scored again near the end of the match adding two goals to his tally already. Fans were happy with Mario joining Milan and he has become a first choice striker ever since. Massimilano Allegri has been manager of AC Milan for three years now, he is a born Italian and first managed a team in 2003 which was Aglianese and he moved to manage AC Milan in 2010. His time at AC Milan has been up and down. The relationship between him and the fans has become rocky during the last year and a half. Since he has been in charge many of the big name players have left the club for another. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was one of the players to leave he is now at Paris Saint Germain, him and Thiago Silva left in a deal worth £50 million pound. Other players to have hung up their AC Milan shirt include Clarence Seedorf, Alessandro Nesta and Mark Van Bommel just to name a few.

Dutch winger Urby Emanuelson spoke out about how he felt AC Milan were coping with the loss of some of their star players. He stated "A lot of legends left us - some players who had played 10 or 15 years at the club - so of course it was difficult and then when Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva left, obviously that had a huge impact on our team." Players and fans of the side have noticed the impact of them leaving. Massimilano has had to try and rebuild the squad and has brought in some great players who have done very well every time they have played in their AC Milan shirt, the team just is not the same as it used to be. The Italian manager has said that he wants to get fans and players believing in him, but Emanuelson has also said that he already believes in the manager. However, recently reports have suggested that Allegri could be on his way out of Milan in the summer. The 45 year old did say that he would be retiring in a few years but wanted to carry on as AC Milan manager for a couple of years. During Milan's match against Catania on the 29th April banners were hung down which said 'Piu rispetto per il nostro Mister Allegri' which also means more respect for our coach Allegri.

He replied to the fans loyalty and thanked them for their support, but he said there was no need and that he knew the fans respected him already. We are unsure on Allegri's future at the club or whether he will be in charge of the AC Milan shirt next season but we do know that we think he has done a good job this season. AC Milan do sit third at the minute, seven points behind Napoli which is quite an achievement, fans are expecting a lot because of AC Milan's success in the past. With Milan loosing most of their star players it is no surprise that they are not doing as well as they have over the past years. However if Allegri can spend in the summer and bring in a few new players we think that they will do fine. There will be more football stars coming to play in the AC Milan shirt in the summer and hopefully they can aim for top of the league next season and will keep their manager.

Do you think that Massimilano Allegri has done a bad job at AC Milan? Who do you think should take over as AC Milan's manager? Let us know your thoughts.
