AC Milan is an Italian soccer club, they play in the top flight of Italian soccer the Serie A league. They are one of the best clubs in the world, topping the charts for most international trophies won alongside Boca Juniors.

They have a big following both in Italy, Europe and around the world. However, the 2013 - 2014 season has not had a promising start for the players that wear the AC Milan soccer jersey.

German sportswear manufacturers Adidas currently hold the license to manufacture the AC Milan football shirt

Adidas has manufactured the team's kits since 1998, their initial contract was due to expire in 2017 however, in October this year they announced an extension to this contract.

The deal will now remain in place until at least 2023. The financial implications of this deal were not released however, the initial deal was worth £12m per year.

Earlier this year a new AC Milan home soccer jersey 2013 2014 was released.

This utilises the traditional black and red vertical stripes, this season the stripes are closer together, a thin black pinstripe runs down the centre of each red stripe.

The V shaped neckline with small Italian flag, black sleeves and gold trim create a bold and modern style that looks fantastic.

In their history the team and supporters that wear the AC Milan soccer jersey have had much to celebrate. They have won the top flight on 18 occasions, the Coppa Italia 5 times, and Supercoppa Italia 6 time.

In Europe they have won the prestigious UEFA Champions League 7 times. In worldwide competitions they have won the Intercontinental Cup on 3 occasions and the FIFA Club World Cup once.

Massimiliano Allegri joined AC Milan as the team's coach in June 2010. Prior to coaching AC Milan he had managed at other Italian teams including Sassuolo and Cagliari.

His impressive performance at Cagliari, leading the team to a 9th place finish despite limited resources drew him to the attention of the AC Milan management.

Allegri's 1st season in charge was hugely successful. He led the team to their first Serie A win since 2004.

The following season we saw the players wearing the AC Milan soccer jersey lift the Supercoppa Italia. The team secured some solid results and beat rivals Inter Milan on several occasions.

However, recently this success seems to be slipping away, finishing 3rd at the end if the 2012 - 2013 season.

The start of the 2013 - 2014 season hasn't been any better fuelling rumours that Allegri may be relieved of his position as head coach.

The teams Serie A campaign began with an away match in which they travelled to Verona. Unfortunately the team lost with a final score of 2-1 to the home side. Taking away 0 points from this vital 1st game.

A better result was secured in the teams 1st game wearing their brand new AC Milan home soccer jersey 2013 - 2014.

They met Cagliari at the San Siro stadium and won their 1st 3 points with a scoreline of 3-1.

Having only won 2 other Serie A matches this season against Sampdoria and Udinese they are currently 10th in the Serie A table with only 13 points after 12 games, and a huge 19 points behind current leaders Roma.

This weekend the team wearing the AC Milan soccer jerseys travelled to Chievo.

Chievo are currently bottom of the Serie A table and this should have been a good opportunity for AC Milan to boost their points tally and walk away with 3 points.

However, it was not to be, they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw.

The visiting side dominated the game but was unable to coordinate enough to score that vital winning goal.

Despite the circulating rumours and lack of results this season the AC Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani, has stated on behalf of president Silvio Berlusconi, that they intend to support Allegri, as opposed to replacing him.

Allegri has also voiced his opinion that his job is safe and that he will continue as head coach of the players that wear the AC Milan soccer jersey.

The fans will be wanting to see improved performance if he is to remain in charge.
