For the 2019/20 Atletico Madrid home jersey Nike has returned to a plain red and white striped base compared to previous seasons where they have experimented with the addition of graphics. This change is refreshing and reverts back to the club’s signature and classic appearance. And the inspiration for this switch is the anniversary of the 2010 Europa League win for the team.
Printed in the middle of the chest are the Plus 500 sponsorship logo and the Hyundai emblem is placed on the right shoulder. Adorned to the left arm is the La Liga bade and a plain red square is visible to the rear of the shirt. Applied to the front of the shirt to the right are the Nike Swoosh in blue and the Atletico Madrid crest is woven to the left.
And completing the design of the 19/20 home shirt for ATM, the date 1903 is printed inside the neckline. This date is when the club was first established and the addition of the Fountain of Neptune graphic pays ultimate homage to the team’s heritage.
