The History Of The Egypt Shirt
The Egypt kit is currently manufactured by Adidas, in fact the German sportswear manufacturers’ Three Stripe logo has adorned the country’s football shirt on many occasions. Below is a list of the manufacturers to have produced the Egypt soccer jerseys in recent history:
- Adidas: 1990-97, 2004-06, 2012-present
- Venecia: 1998
- Puma: 1999-2004, 2006-2012
The colour of the Egypt home shirt is inspired by the country’s flag. Red has consistently been the main colour since the 1980’s, varying amounts of black, white and golden coloured accents have been used to refresh, modernise and change the designs. Recently, and up until 2017/18, under the tenure of Adidas the Egypt shirt designs have been modern, simple and sleek perfectly reflecting the national team.

Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations
The statement that Egypt is the most successful team in the African football federation is based on the fact that they have won the Africa Cup of Nations competition on a record of seven occasions. Their first victory was at the first ever edition of the tournament in 1957, and their most recent in 2010. In addition to their seven victories Egypt has claimed two runner-up spots in 1962 and 2017, as well as six semi-final appearances.

With such success at the African confederation competition it may be assumed that the Egyptian squad also fly high at the FIFA World Cup. However, this is not the case. In fact, as of the 2018 tournament the Egypt kit has only made three appearances, as listed below.
